XAT 2019: AN OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE EXAM

Xavier Aptitude Test commonly known as XAT is a national level entrance examination for post graduate category conducted by Xavier School of Management (XLRI) on behalf of XAMI. It is conducted every year for the past six decades. Around 90,000 candidates appear for it each year. Aspirants can seek admission in management courses through this exam. There are more than a 100 B-Schools across India which avail admission on the basis of XAT score. This year the examination will be held in 47 different cities across India along with two International cities i.e. Dubai and Kathmandu. It is conducted in pen and paper mode only. The registrations for XAT 2019 started on 20th August 2018. Candidates can get the e-information bulletin from XAT 2019 official website (www.xatonline.net.in).

GUIDELINES FOR THE EXAM

  • XAT 2019 will be conducted on 6th January, 2018.
  • The exam timing is- 10:00am – 1:30pm
  • The paper will be divided into two sections Paper 1 and Paper 2 that will further be divided into sub-sections.
  • It will only be conducted in pen and paper mode.
  • Application fee can be paid via Online Payment Gateway, Cash Payment and Demand Draft.
  • To apply for other institutions using XAT score, candidate must go through respective institute’s application procedure.
  • For XLRI courses an additional fee of Rs. 300 has to be paid per course.
  • The examination will be held in 47 different cities across India along with two International cities i.e. Dubai and Kathmandu.

NOTE-

  • Online mode is the only way through which a candidate can apply for the exam.

  • Applicants who chose Cash payment and Demand Draft as the mode of payment will be required to update their payment details in the registration page or else they will not be allowed to upload their photos and signature.
  • Applicants should take a print-out of the confirmation page
  • It is compulsory for applicants who are paying through DD to send the confirmation page to the below mentioned address along with the DD within 15 days from the date of issuance.

  • Once the confirmation page reaches XLRI, a message will be sent in the candidate’s login page.
  • Only NRIs interested in BM, HRM, GMP courses and Indians interested in GMP course can apply through GMAT score obtained during 1st December, 2014 and 20th December, 2016.

Guidelines for uploading scanned photographs-

  • The image of all the scanned documents should be in JPEG format.
  • The file should not exceed 1 MB
  • Candidates can crop the image to reduce the size using MS Paint, Photo Editor Etc.
  • The passport size photograph should be colored and should be in digital format taken against light.
  • Signature should be on a white paper with black ink pen.
  • The signature should be scanned in 200 dots per inch scanner resolution settings

XAT 2019: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • A Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized authority.
  • Final year students, who will be completing their end semester exams by 10th June, 2019 are also eligible to apply.
  • NRI and Foreign students (excluding students from Dubai and Kathmandu) can apply through GMAT score.

XAT 2019: EXAM PATTERN

XAT exam pattern is set to test the aptitude of the aspirant based on decision making, qualitative, quantitative and verbal abilities. The exam will have multiple sections to evaluate a candidate’s overall aptitude. Here’s the exam pattern for XAT 2019-

XAT 2019: ADMIT CARD

  • Candidates will be able to download XAT 2019 Admit card from 22nd December, 2018 onwards.
  • It will only be available on the XAT official website (www.xatonline.net.in).
  • Details like Name of the candidate, Roll no. , Exam center, Exam timing, Exam date will be mentioned in the admit card.
  • Candidates are advised to keep their admit cards safe till the end of the admission procedure.
  • Admit cards will only be available online

XAT 2019: ANSWER KEY

  • Answer key will be made available on the official website soon after the exam.
  • Candidates can cross check their answers by the answer key.
  • They first have to visit the website and click on “XAT 2019 Answer Key” link.
  • Then enter the registration number and the Date of Birth.
  • The answer key will appear.

XAT 2019: RESULT DECLARATION

  • Result of XAT 2019 will declare on 31st January, 2019.
  • It will be made available on XAT official website
  • To generate the result a candidate needs to enter registration no. and other required details.
  • Also the score card will be made available to download after result declaration.
  • Keep the score card safe.
  • There are more than a 100 B-Schools across India which avail admission on the basis of XAT score.

Cut off is the minimum score required to qualify an exam. Though XLRI have yet to announce the official cutoff here’s a cutoff based on previous year-

 XAT 2019: COUNSELING PROCEDURE

  • Counseling process for XAT 2019 will start after the result declaration.
  • It will be held via online mode.
  • Students will be invited according to the marks they scored.
  • Then candidates will be shortlisted for XLRI.
  • Later Group discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI) will be conducted for shortlisted candidates.

NEET 2019: Admit Card, Application Form, Syllabus, Exam Pattern

ABOUT THE EXAM

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) also referred as NEET-UG is a national level entrance exam in the field of medical sciences. NEET-UG is conducted every year for undergraduate category mostly in the month of May. Like most of the undergraduate level exams this one is also regulated by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is held to take admissions in the Bachelor level programs i.e. (MBBS/BDS) Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery/ Bachelor of Dental Surgery in all government and private medical colleges. It has only one phase. Till last year All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and other state conducted exams were also held to avail admission in various colleges though it has now been announced that NEET will be the only common medical entrance exam. Aspirants can apply for the exam by filling the application form as it will be made available by the first week of December (tentative).

Here are a few guidelines you should be aware of if you are appearing for NEET-

  • Keep checking NEET 2019 official website regularly as it will contain all the official announcements of NEET 2019.
  • This exam happens only once a year.
  • Candidates can get admission in MBBS/BDS courses.
  • Only Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens in India (OCI) are eligible to appear in the exam.
  • All India Quota seats, State Government Quota seats and Private or NRI Quota seats are available for admissions.
  • According to media, NEET 2019 will also be conducted in Gujarati language along with English and Hindi.
  • It is advised for candidates to reach the exam center well in time.
  • Entry will not be permitted after the commencement of the exam.
  • Candidates must carry their admit card with them along with passport size photograph affixed on it.
  • They should carry three passport size photographs.
  • Goa 2019-20 admission for MBBS and BDS will be on the basis of NEET 2019.

NEET 2019: ADMIT CARD

  • NEET 2019 Admit card will be made available on its official website by the first week of April 2019 (tentative).
  • It will only be available through online mode.
  • To download the admit card you first need to login by entering your registration number and date of birth.
  • The admit card will include these details- Name, Roll no. , Exam date and Exam center.
  • Candidates must bring the admit card with them in the examination hall.
  • It is advised for candidates to keep the admit card safe till the admission in MBBS/BDS programs.

NEET 2019: RESULT DECLARATION

  • NEET 2019 result will be declared by the first week of June (tentative) on its official website.
  • It is declared by CBSE.
  • Result will be made available only through online mode.
  • Print the result card for the admission procedure.
  • Based on the result a merit list will be prepared.

NEET 2019: COUNSELING

  • NEET 2019 counseling will start after the declaration of the result.
  • Counseling for 15% All India Quota will be organized by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) through online mode.
  • Candidates will secure admissions according to the rank they secured in the entrance examination.
  • State quota, central universities/ institutions and other many other institutions counseling will be held by their respective counseling authorities.
  • Candidates will be allotted seats according to their selections and seat availability.

GATE 2017: An Overview

The history of GATE examination dates back to 1984 when it was first held and since then it is conducted once every year. With a continuous increase in the number of applicants, it has a qualifying rate of 15%. One can say those qualified are the crème da la crème. Now that it’s time for this exam again here’s an insight of everything you need to know about GATE 2019.

ABOUT THE EXAM

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering commonly known as GATE is a National level exam held every year for post graduate category. The 7 IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) and Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore) conduct this examination on rotation basis. GATE 2017 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee. It consists of 23 papers. This exam is a medium to take admission in M’Tech/M.E courses offered by IITs, NITs, GFTIs, state universities and various private institutions across the country. Candidates can also get direct admission in a PhD course. Recruitments are done on the basis of Gate score card and it can also be used for direct recruitment to ‘Group A’ level posts in Cabinet Secretariat. Gate score remains valid for three years. The entire process of application form, admit card, test and result is completely online. More than 9.23 Lakhs candidates have applied for GATE this year and every year the no. keeps rising.

  • Corrections can be made in category, gender and exam city.
  • Correction window will remain open from 31st October (11:00am) till 7th November 2018 (6:00pm).

GUIDELINES FOR GATE 2019

  • There will be a total of 23 papers.
  • Candidates can apply for only one paper.
  • General aptitude section is common in all papers.
  • GATE score will be valid for three years.
  • GATE 2019 along with the application process will be held in online mode through GOAPS [GATE online appearing system].
  • Internet downloaded mark sheet will not be accepted.
  • Candidates are not allowed to take any electronic device such as mobile phones, watches etc. Biometric information will be taken of random students before the examination.
  • Those found with any such devices will be disqualified and their score will be withheld.
  • Candidates are not allowed to take physical calculator with them; virtual calculator will be available on the computer screen.
  • For recruitment and admission process students should keep their admit card safe for the next three years.
  • GATE score card can be downloaded within a specific period of time.
  • Only qualified students can download score card.

GATE 2019: NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • International candidates from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and U.A.E [United Arab Emirates] can apply for GATE 2019.
  • Three new centers are added i.e. Dibrugarh (IIT Guwahati Zone), Burdwan (IIT Guwahati Zone), and Gorakhpur (IIT Kanpur Zone).
  • In (XE) paper of engineering sciences a new section on Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences has been added.
  • XE paper will now consist 8 sections i.e. from section A to H
  • Candidates can now choose their second exam city preference from the same zone as that of the first city.
  • Candidates should upload their thumb impression during application process.
  • Those candidates who have completed their degree before 2017 should upload a scanned image of their degree completion certificate or final semester mark sheet.
  • For final year students who will complete their course in 2019 should upload a scanned image of their third year (5th/6th semester) or fourth year (7th/8th semester) mark sheet.
  • Similarly backlog students can also apply for GATE 2019. They can upload a scanned copy of their completion certificate/ 6th semester mark sheet or provisional certificate.

GATE 2019: SYLLABUS

It is very important for the applicants to understand the syllabus. For systematic, logical and managed preparation one should know what all is the part of the syllabus. GATE syllabus is categorized into different disciplines. Every paper syllabus is different based on the core subject studied during the qualifying exam. GATE 2019: ADMIT CARD

One cannot sit for the examination without an admit card. So here are some key points on GATE 2019 admit card and how to download it.

  • GATE 2019 Admit card will be made available on 4th January 2019
  • Candidates can download their admit card by logging in to GOAPS
  • Print your admit card
  • Entry in examination hall will not be allowed without an admit card and a valid and original photo identification.
  • International candidates should carry their passport along with the admit card
  • For recruitment and admission process students should keep their admit card safe for the next three years.

ANSWER KEY

An answer key is an official solution sheet published by the authority to display the answers of the examination. Applicants can tally their answers through it. It is often uploaded a few days after the examination.

RESULT DECLARATION

GATE 2019 result will be declared on 16th March, 2019. Candidates can check their results on GATE Online Application Website. This result will only display the performance of the candidates. GATE result can get candidates admission in M.Tech and recruitment in PSUs.

SCORE CARD

Only those candidates who have qualified will be able to download their score card. GATE 2019 score card will be made available from 20th March till 31st May, 2019. It includes result details and rank obtained. GATE score card will be valid for the next three years.

CUTOFF

GATE cutoff is released by the authority. A cutoff is the minimum marks required to qualify the exam. Different institutions have different cutoff so this can help candidates to understand how many marks are required to secure admissions in IITs, NITs, GFTIs and others.

[Correction window] -Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering abbreviated as GATE is an exam held every year for post graduate category. It is regulated by 7 IITs and IISCs (Bangalore). This year (GATE 2019) it is conducted by IIT Roorkee. The application process for the exam started on 1st September, 2018 and the no. of applicants reached more than 9.23 lakhs. Students can make payment only through online mode and e-challans (at bank counters). After form submission candidates can also check their application form status i.e. (Received, Accepted, under scrutiny, Defect status, Status after Rectification, Rejected with valid reasons, and Admit card ready for download). Though the application process has now ended, candidates can make correction in their application form in particular categories.

Details regarding correction in the application form are as follows-

  • Corrections can only be made under- Category, Gender, Exam city.
  • Changes will not be made in mobile numbers and email ids.
  • Correction window will remain open from 31st October (11:00am) till 7th November (6:00pm).

[VIRTUAL CALCULATOR]- GATE 2019 is a national level exam for post graduation category held once every year. It helps candidates take admissions in various IITs, NITs, GFTIs and other institutions across the country. It is conducted in usually February every year. GATE has a qualifying rate of 15%. As it is a prestigious exam conducted by 7 IITs and IISCs it has many rules and guidelines. One of them is the use of virtual calculator instead of physical calculator.

Important points-

  • Candidates will not be permitted to bring physical calculators
  • Virtual calculator will only be made available during the time of examination
  • It is an online calculator with all the functions and operations
  • Students can access it by the use of mouse
  • It is a non-programmable calculator
  • Cubic, quadratic and simultaneous equations cannot be solved through it

 

Key Features-

  • There are two boxes at the top of the virtual calculator. The operations conducted are displayed in the topmost box and the results are displayed in the second box.
  • All the numeric keys for input and operators are on the right hand side of the calculator.
  • All the scientific functions are on the left hand side of the calculator.
  • Trigonometric and Hyperbolic functions are grouped together and their inverse is displayed below them.

[Exam pattern]-

GATE 2019 is organized by Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee this time. The exam along with the application process will be held in online mode through GOAPS [GATE online appearing system]. And payment will be done through online mode and e-challans. GATE 2019 various exam cities are divided under 8 zones. Three new centers are added this year i.e. Dibrugarh (IIT Guwahati Zone), Burdwan (IIT Guwahati Zone), and Gorakhpur (IIT Kanpur Zone).

[Admit card]-

GATE 2019 Admit card will be made available on 4th January, 2019 only for a limited period of time. It can be downloaded by logging in to Gate Online Application Processing System and entering your enrollment number. A candidate must carry it with them in the examination hall. Along with the admit card students should carry an original valid photo identification (same as mentioned in the application form). You will not be permitted without an admit card and the photo id. International candidates should carry their passport along with the admit card. GATE 2019 admit card include details like the name of the candidate, category, enrollment id, exam schedule details and exam center address. It is advised for students to keep their admit card safe for the next three years for admission and recruitment process.

Ever since 1960 IIT-JEE now known as JEE has been the most awaited exam of the year in India. Since then many changes have taken place in the exam pattern and every year it is revised. Here’s an insight of everything you need to know about JEE Mains 2019.

ABOUT THE EXAM

Joint Entrance Examination abbreviated as JEE, is a two phase national examination for undergraduate category i.e. JEE Mains and JEE Advance. It is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). JEE Mains is held to take admission in B’Tech/B’Arch in 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 CFTIs across the country. It will conduct two papers- paper 1 (for B.E./B’Tech) and paper 2 (for B’Arch/ B’planning). Candidates can either opt for paper 1 or paper 2 or for both. It is also a qualifying exam to appear in the 2nd phase i.e. JEE Advance. This phase let aspirants seek admission in the elite campuses of IITs. JEE Main 2019 will be conducted in both online and offline mode and the application forms will be made available by the 8th of February 2019 till 7th March 2019.

SOME IMPORTANT NOTICES

  • All candidates must possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI with them.
  • 2, 20,000 candidates will be eligible to take JEE Advance 2019 which is 70,000 more than the previous year number.
  • Applicants should have their personal contact number and email id.
  • Board exam results will not be taken into account in considering JEE Mains 2019 ranks. The All India Ranks will be based on the JEE Mains 2019 marks only.
  • However, a minimum of 75% for General category and 65% for SC/ST in class 12th or to be in top 20 percentile is necessary to be eligible for qualifying admission into NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.

GUIDELINES FOR THE EXAM

  • Candidates should download the admit card from the official website of JEE Main 2019.
  • They should keep checking the official website as new announcements will be updated frequently regarding the exam.
  • Admit card will only be made available to those candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates must carry their admit cards with them to the examination hall.
  • They also have to provide a copy of documents to the invigilator.
  • Students are required to reach the examination hall 30 minutes before the examination.
  • No electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, watches, calculators are allowed in the examination hall.
  • If found with any such devices the student’s examination will be canceled and he/she will be debarred, also the equipment will be seized.
  • Those candidates who have opted for Paper 2 should bring their own pencils, erasers, crayons, colour pencils and geometry boxes.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to leave his or her seat before the completion of the exam duration i.e. 3 hours.

ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA

  • For General category a candidate have to be of 25 years of age or less on 1st October of the year of admission to be eligible to apply for the exam.

[Eligibility criteria] – JEE Main 2019 (Joint Entrance Examination) is a two phase national examination for undergraduate category i.e. JEE Mains and JEE Advance. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Link [syllabus] – JEE Main is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is held to take admission in B.Tech/B.Arch in 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 CFTIs across the country. It will conduct two papers- paper 1 (for B.E./B.Tech) and paper 2 (for B.Arch/ B.Planning). Candidates can either opt for paper 1 or paper 2 or for both. JEE Main 2019: ADMIT CARD

  • JEE Main 2019 admit card will be made available by the third week of March.
  • Candidates can download it from JEE Main official website
  • Candidates would have to provide their roll no. and class 12th /equivalent exam details.
  • In case of any error in the admit card the candidate should immediately contact JEE Main Secretariat.
  • Students must carry their admit card with them in the examination hall.

ANSWER KEY

  • It will be made available by the third week of July, 2019 (tentative).
  • Candidates can cross check their answers by the answer sheet.
  • The answer sheet will be available on the JEE Main official website.
  • Candidates can also challenge the answer key.
  • To challenge the answer key the student have to login in his/her JEE Main account, enter application number, DOB and security pin.
  • A fee of Rs1000 will be charged for challenging every question which could be paid through credit card/ debit card or e-challan.
  • The fee is non-refundable.

RESULT

  • JEE Main 2019 result will be declared on 30th April 2019(tentative).
  • The result will be available on JEE Main website.
  • It will also list the names of students who have qualified to appear for JEE Advanced.
  • The All India Ranks will be based on the JEE Mains 2019 marks only.
  • However, a minimum of 75% for General category and 65% for SC/ST in class 12th or to be in top 20 percentile is necessary to be eligible for qualifying admission into NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.
  • All India Ranks will be announced by the fourth week of June, 2019 (tentative).

CUTOFF

  • A cutoff is the minimum score required to qualify an exam
  • CBSE set cutoff for JEE Main examination.
  • There are different cutoff set for different categories such as General, Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and other backward classes.
  • Difficulty level, number of students appearing all these factors decides on the cutoff of JEE Main.

COUNSELING SCHEDULE

  • JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) handle the counseling schedule.
  • JEE Main counseling will start by the first week of July, 2019 (tentatively).
  • Candidates are called upon according to their ranks.
